Game Recap

Randolph broke a four-game losing streak with a three-inning, 19-0 win over cross town rival J.O. Johnson that saw the Raiders turn a thrilling game-ending triple play.

While seniors set the offensive tone early, and sophomore pitcher Katie Nordeman allowed just one hit, it was younger Raiders who combined on the triple play to seal the Class 5A, Area 16 win at Randolph.

With runners at first and second base in the top of the third, freshman center fielder Emma Norman caught a fly ball on the run, threw to seventh-grader Emma Gold for a force out at second and Gold threw to her sister, sophomore first baseman Annie Gold, to complete the trifecta.

Randolph seniors Hannah Page Clayton, Libby Gold and Marina Egbaria all doubled among two hits apiece. Egbaria led the Raiders (2-4 overall, 1-1 in the area) with two RBIs. Sophomores Virginia Wilson and Ashley Cate both had run-scoring hits and seventh-grade catcher Aubrie Lisenby drew three walks.

Katie Nordeman struck out three to get the shutout.
