Raiders take 2nd in Randolph Softball Tournament

In game 1 the Raiders took the lead late and defeated Athens Bible 8-1 on Friday. The game was tied at one with the Raiders batting in the bottom of the fourth when Emma Gold singled, driving in one run. Katie Nordeman earned the win for the Raiders. She tossed four innings, allowing one run, five hits, striking out two, and walking one.

In game 2, Raiders had an early lead in the first inning. The Raiders scored on a stolen base during Raychel Bellenfant’s at bat. Then Bellenfant singled, driving in one. Isabel Okinedo, Ashley Cate, Nordeman, and Bellenfant all had one hit to lead the Raiders. Laura Kate Evans led the Raiders with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with four stolen bases. The Raiders lost the lead late in a 7-3 defeat to Columbia on Friday.

In game 3, the Raiders defeated Brindlee Mountain 3-1 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one with the Raiders batting in the bottom of the fifth when Raychel Bellenfant singled off Pruitt, driving in one run. Emma Gold, Raychel Bellenfant, and Emma Nordeman each drove in one run to lead the Raiders.

The Raiders won game 4 against Mae Jemison by forfeit.

After a 3-1 tournament record, the Raiders took second place. Congratulations to the Raiders Varsity Softball Team!
