Game Recap

The Raiders (21-9) completed the sweep of #7 ranked Oneonta winning 5-1 and advancing to the 2nd round of the state play-offs. Junior RHP Will Griffin (3-2) pitched a strong 5 1/3 innings allowing only 3 hits, 1 walk, 2 strike outs and 1 earned run. Senior closer Carson Hall entered the game in the sixth inning with one out and Randolph up 3-1 and a runner at first base and retired the first two batters he faced to get out of the inning. He threw a shutout inning in the seventh to secure the win and picking up his 5th save of the season. Offensively, junior center fielder Josh Hall was a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate collecting 2 doubles, 1 RBI and scoring 3 runs. Junior catcher Jackson Vest was 2 for 3, Griffin added a single and RBI Carson Hall executed a suicide squeeze to drive in a run. The Raiders will host Haleyville on Friday in the 2nd round of the state play-offs in a double-header starting at 4:30. If a game 3 is needed on Saturday it will be played at 1:00. Please come out and support these boys on Friday! Go Raiders!
