The Raiders (22-9) won game one, in the second round of the state play-offs, 3-2 in the bottom of the 10th inning on a walk off bunt base hit along with a throwing error vs Haleyville (23-11). Junior first baseman Crockett Worthington led off the bottom of the 10th with a single and after one out junior left fielder Brad Layton laid down a drag bunt base hit that was thrown away that allowed Worthington to score from first base. Senior closer Carson Hall (4-0) entered the game in the top of the 8th inning with one out and a runner at second base and the game tied 2-2, and retired two batters in a row leaving the runner stranded at third. He pitched two shutout innings in the 9th and 10th innings allowing only 1 hit and 5 strikeouts. Hall has not allowed a run in his 23 2/3 innings this season which places him into 5th place in the AHSAA state record books for Most Consecutive Innings Pitched without allowing a run. Senior RHP Forrest Webber gutted out the first two innings of the game before having to leave with an injuried arm. Junior LHP Colten Scoggins then entered the game and threw 4 2/3 innings, allowing no runs, 3 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Offensively for the Raiders, Sam Kimel tied the game in the bottom of the 4th inning hitting an opposite field 2 run homerun, his 6th of the year. Layton ended the game with 2 hits.
