UAH Men’s Basketball Team at Garth

143 Reads

On Sunday October 15, 2017 the University of Alabama Huntsville Men’s Basketball Team began fall camp practices, as they usually do this time of year. One big difference….. The Perineal Top 10 Ranked D2 Basketball program chose the beautiful Shields-Jones Gymnasium on the Garth Campus as the place to start their season! The Chargers are adding new bleachers to their home at Spragins Hall, so their gym is currently unavailable. UAH has ran 4 practices on campus this week. The Chargers have opened practice to Randolph players and coaches to stop by and watch them while they work. They will conclude their week of practice at Randolph with a 10:00 AM practice Saturday morning. Randolph School is very honored to be working with UAH and continuing to develop an already strong relationship with them.  2017-18 Charger Basketball

Head Boys Coach Dylan Bunnell has a strong relationship with the basketball coaching staff at UAH, and when they saw they would be in need of gym space to practice, they reached out to Coach Bunnell.

Basketball1“I’m super excited to have these guys on campus. Coach Acuff is one of the best basketball coaches at any level in the country, but more importantly he is one of the best human beings on the planet. He has been an excellent role model, mentor, and friend to me, so when we got the opportunity to help them out, I was excited. I am very thankful to Mr. Rainey, Mr. Davenport, Mr. Liese, and Mrs. Bryant for helping us get this done. This is a very exciting time for Randolph Basketball. All teams began practice Monday, UAH has been here all week, and RAP clinics start Saturday. The buzz on campus right now about basketball is very exciting for us to see.”
