It will be another busy summer for Coach Gaunt as he manages the Strength and Conditioning program for the Randolph athletes. As we continue to instill the mindset that they must consistently be working through the year to develop athletically, this holds true during the summer as well.
Football, volleyball, and cross country athletes will be preparing for the upcoming fall season while winter and spring sport athletes are laying a solid foundation to be built upon during the next training phases. Many different groups will attend regular workout sessions through the summer, beginning as young as the fourth grade. Time is spent working to improve many different components of athleticism, including movement efficiency, strength/power development, as well as joint mobility and stability.
Coach Gaunt will be assisted by his intern, Brittney Bright from the University of North Alabama. Former Randolph multi-sport athlete Maggie Buell, who recently received her degree in Dietetics, will also be spending time here this summer, educating our athletes on proper hydration and fueling practices, as they relate to workouts, practice, and competition. Workouts begin the week of June 5th. Specific days and times can be found on the Randolph Athletic site under the Calendar tab.
