It was a fun night for Randolph sports fans as they got to witness the first ever “white vs blue” game. The Varsity volleyball team took on the Randolph alumni team which was comprised of Jordan Loftin, Marina Egbaria, Victoria Fennell, Laura Van Puersum, Libby Gold, Emily Dang, Julia Shoemake, and Maddie Kofskey. With the alumni team besting the Varsity team in game one 25-22 and in game two 25-13.
This helped give the Varsity team some additional practice as they look to finish getting ready for the first game against Jemison on the 31st, while also giving them a chance to catch up with friends from previous seasons. It even gave Seniors Crosby Loftin and Annie Gold a chance to face off against their sisters both who were on the Alumni team. While for the Alumni team they came ready to help the Varsity but also take a trip down memory lane; As Jordan Loftin said, “I am back at Randolph because it is nice to see old friends and teammates”. Many of the alumni echoed this same point as Laura Van Puersum told us, “So many people at Randolph have touched our lives in many ways, and it is always fun to come back and catch up with everyone!” It was a memorable night for the Randolph Volleyball program and the “white vs blue” game should be an interesting tradition going forward for the program!
