Randolph Swim and Dive Team made a very strong showing at the AHSAA North Sectional Meet this past weekend. View photos online.
Randolph’s boys were runner up in Division1A-5A, out of eleven teams, Jackson Davis, Cal Shockley, Jack Maurer, Matthew Tao, Ethan Wan, David Clary, and Warren Towry all contributed to their team’s success.
Sophie Byers, Delaney Wood, Mary Coomer, Kelli Janssen, Sydney Scoggins, Cole Strankman, Abby Amis, Emily Eichstaedt, Victoria Moffet, and Elizabeth Rainey contributed to Randolph placing third in Division 1A-5A out of nine teams.
The men scored in the top three in the following events: 200 Medley Relay(Ethan Wan, Jackson Rogers, Cal Shockley, and Matthew Tao- 3rd), 200 Free (Cal Shockley- 1st and Jack Maurer- 2nd), 500 Free (Cal Shockley-1st), 100 Back (Ethan Wan- 1st), 100 Fly (Ethan Wan- 3rd), and 400 Free Relay (Ethan Wan, Jack Maurer, Jackson Rogers, and Cal Shockley-1st).
The women placed 3rd in the 400 Free Relay (Cole Strankman, Elizabeth Rainey, Mary Coomer, and Delaney Wood).
Congratulations to these athletes for giving it their best effort and they should be quite proud of their accomplishments. You all made Sectionals an exciting meet to watch.
David Clary (7th grade) placed third in 1A-5A, scoring 209.85 points. This means he earned 16 points for our boys team at Sectionals. He also qualified for diving at State (11-Dive format).
