On Saturday, September 29, the Randolph Cross Country program competed at the 2018 edition of the Cold Springs Kudzu Hills Invitational in Bremen, AL. The Randolph cross country program had athletes in four different divisions. View Photos on Vidigami.

4A – 7A GIRLS 5K
The first race of the day for the Randolph cross country program was the 4A – 7A girls division 5k race at 9:15 am. Only high school girls were selected to race. The girls finished 3rd place out of 12 complete scoring teams with 85 points. Once again, Emma Hudson was the first Raider to cross the finish line for the girls! Emma finished 3rd place overall in 20:57. Next, Nisha Mailapur finished 16th in 22:48. Grace Stucky, Sara Hutchens and Faline Zhao finished 22nd, 29th and 31st place overall in 23:03, 23:37 and 23:46 respectively. Avery Evans finished 57th overall place in 25:25. Finally, Brooke Harmon and Alice Malone finished 71st and 82nd place overall in 26:49 and 28:04 respectively. Full Results
4A – 7A BOYS 5K
The second race of the day was the 4A-7A boys division 5k race at 9:45 am. Only high school boys were selected to race. The boys finished 7th place out of 18th complete teams, scoring 184 points. Once again, Lee Thomas was the first Raider to cross the finish line for the boys! Lee finished 11th place overall in 17:40. Eric Xing followed, and finished 21st place overall in 18:14. Next, David Coomer finished 32nd overall in 18:57. Sims Fann and Will Kessler finished 61st and 65th overall in 20:06 and 20:08 respectively. Not far behind, Christopher Wiginton, Nicholas Hammond, and Max Pitsinos finished 78th, 85th, and 89th overall place in 20:35, 20:51, and 20:56 respectively. Next, Alex Covert and Evan DeVIne finished 94th and 107th place overall in 21:09 and 21:44 respectively. Following them, Adin Rossi and Alex Anderson finished 147th and 168th overall place in 22:49 and 23:23 respectively. Junior High girls’ 2-mile race
The third race of the day was the Junior High girls’ 2-mile race at 10:15 am. There was no separation in school size for this race, it was 1A-7A. We only raced all our 7th and 8th graders in these races to give them a chance to race with athletes of their own age category. The girls finished 4th place out of 6 complete scoring teams with 91 points. Claire Deaton was the first Raider to cross the finish line for the girls! Claire finished 2nd overall in 14:12. Next, Sydney Clary and Parmida Amiri finished 12th and 22nd place overall in 15:16 and 16:16 respectively. Finally, Maggie Fleishmann and Ysidra Brazell finished 32nd and 56th place overall in 17:30 and 22:58 respectively. Full Results
Junior High Boys’ 2-mile race
Our final race of the day was the Junior High boys’ 2-mile race at 10:45 am. Just as the girls’ race there was no separation in school size for this race, it was 1A-7A. We only raced all our 7th and 8th graders in these races to give them a chance to race with athletes of their own age category. Lots of fast runners! The Raiders raced strong finishing 2nd out of 10 scoring teams, scoring 68 points! Zach Takacs was the first Raider to cross the finish line for the boys! Zach finished 2nd place overall in 11:32. Not far behind, Jackson Howse finished in 8th place overall In 12:30. Wright McManus, Evan Shields, and Jamie Matthews followed, finishing 17th, 18th and 24th overall in 13:07, 13:13, and 13:17 respectively. Wesley Hodge and Charles Thompson finished in 70th and 90th overall in 15:34 and 17:12 respectively. Finally, Howard Tidwell and Colin DeVine finished in 102nd and 108th overall place in 18:31 and 22:07 respectively. Full Results
