The Randolph Cross Country program competed this past Tuesday, September 17 at the 2019 edition of the Randolph Cross Country Classic (aka the Run in the Mud) at UAH.
Varsity Boys 3-mile race:
The first race of the day was the Varsity Boys 5A-7A 3 Mile Race at 3:55 pm. All middle school and high school boys were registered to race in this division. The boys finished 2nd out of 10 teams, scoring 59 points. Lee Thomas was the first Raider to cross the finish line for the boys. Lee finished 6th place overall in 17:21. Not far behind, Zach Takacs finished 7th place overall in 17:23. Next, Jack Shamban finished 11th in 17:28. David Coomer and Jackson Howse finished 11th and 18th in 17:28 and 18:17 respectively. Evan Shields finished in 33rd in 18:59. Next, Thomas Raiford and Nate Schamban finished 92nd and 100th in 21:15, and 21:36 respectively. Felipe Marples Rodriguez, Jamie Matthews, and Adin Rossi finished 110th, 118th and 123rd in 22:06, 22:21, and 22:45 respectively. Following them, Grant Benko, Wesley Hodge, and Ethan Enberg finished 129th, 131st, and 134th in 23:30, 23:36 and 23:52 respectively. Next, Charles Thompson, Ben Westra, and Omar Memon finished 148th, 156th, and 157th in 24:51, 25:37, and 25:45 respectively. The last race of the day for the Randolph cross country program was the Varsity Girls 5A-7A 3 Mile Race at 5:25 pm. The girls finished 4th out of 9 teams with 128 points. All middle school and high school girls were registered to race in this division. Emma Hudson was the first Raider to cross the finish line for the girls. Emma finished 17th place overall in 21:24. Next, Grace Stuckey finished 24th in 22:22. Sydney Clary finished 36th in 23:06. Following them, Armita Amiri, Rachna Ghanta, and Parmida Amiri finished 49th, 51st, and 53rd in 24:18, 24:24, and 24:34 respectively. Next, Cameron Wright and Maggie Fleischmann finished 70th and 79th in 25:26 and 26:52 respectively. Next, Emma Towner Jones and Anna Dooley finished 88th and 92nd in 27:42 and 28:22 respectively. Finishing up for the Raiders, Rachel Gann and Alice Malone finished 115th and 118th in 31:56 and 32:16 respectively. Click here for full results.
