The Randolph Cross Country program competed this past Saturday, October 5 at the 2019 edition of Jesse Owens Classic at the Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Oakville, AL. This venue is the same site that holds the AHSAA 5A State Cross Country Championships in November.
Bronze Division Varsity Boys 5K:
The only race of the day for the Raiders was the “Bronze 4A-5A” Division Varsity Boy 5K race at 8:40 am. A combination of middle school and high school boys made up the runners registered to race in this division. The boys finished 2nd out of 45 teams, scoring 149 points. Freshman, Zach Takacs was the first Raider to cross the finish line for the Randolph boys. Zach finished 16th place overall in 17:08. Not far behind, Jack Schamban and Lee Thomas finished 17th and 18th in 17:09. Next, Jackson Howse finished 29th in 17:18. Wright McManus and Evan Shields finished in 82nd and 85th in 18:32 and 18:33 respectively. Next, Nate Schamban and Thomas Raiford finished 227th and 245th in 20:14, and 20:25 respectively. Bobby Bailey finished 252nd in 21:10. Next, Adin Rossi and Colin Greer, finished 332nd and 334th in 21:38 and 21:41 respectively. Grant Benko and Ethan Engberg finished 354th and 368th in 22:06 and 22:21 respectively. Next, Wesley Hodge finished 386th in 22:41.
