Our nine swimmers scored in the top sixteen this weekend at the State Meet in Auburn. Our two divers scored in the top ten in diving. With the help of our divers, our girl’s team came in 18th out of thirty-two 6A-7A teams. The boy’s team came in 16th out of twenty-nine 6A-7A teams.
In diving, Anna Cate Goodson and Mallory Holland had to perform eleven tough dives. They performed each dive with confidence and grace. Their determination showed throughout the competition which helped sophomores Anna Cate place 2nd and Mallory place 8th.
On the swimming side, senior Emily Eichstaedt, senior Victoria Moffet, eighth grader Caroline Ayres, and seventh grader Betsy King came in 14th in the 400 Free Relay. Our boys’ came in 11th in the Medley Relay (Ethan Wan, Jackson Rogers, William Ziegler, and Matthew Tao). Jack Maurer, William Ziegler (sophomore), Matthew Tao, and Jackson Rogers came in 15th in the 200 Free Relay. In the 400 Free Relay, our four senior boys, Jack Maurer, Matthew Tao, Ethan Wan, and Jackson Rogers came in 10th place. In their final individual events, Jackson Rogers swam a best time in the 50 Free and came in 12th and Ethan Wan swam a best time in the 100 Back and came in 11th. Their goals were to get in the top sixteen in relays and individual events, which the swimmers accomplished!
Congratulations to Randolph’s divers and swimmers for giving it their best. It has been a very successful season thanks to our senior leadership and everyone’s hard work in the pool.
