Our middle school teams are working hard. With the growth of players we are able to really challenge the players in practice. Coach Allie says “The beginning of our season is off to a great start! The hard work that the girls have put in over the summer is paying off. Our A (Blue Team) began the season with a great win over JPII and our B (Grey Team) got its first win in an exciting 2 set match against Madison County. I am so proud of our Lady Raiders and can’t wait to see what these next couple of weeks will bring in preparation for the Bulls Bash on September 12.” MS match photos on Vidigami
The JV team 2-1 is off to a strong start. Coach Bianca says “I couldn’t be more proud of the girls; all the hard work they put in over the summer is showing. We started off strong getting the win against James Clemons but falling short to Madison Academy. This past Thursday we went back to work and battled against JPII for our first Area win! I am excited for the girls to continue to show off their hard work.”
The varsity team began the season at a tough Brewer tournament. With a rough start the girls have fought back and won some great matches against James Clemons and JPII for their first Area win. Against JPII Eliana Horowitz posted 30 set assists and 10 digs. Mary Maddox Creech had 11 kills and Aydan Conchin had 12 digs. Coach Kelly is proud of the growth the team has shown over the past week. “Our three seniors are fighting hard. It was a slow start, but the team is finding their will to compete again and that is exciting. Emma Gold had a great weekend at the West Morgan tournament. Eliana Horowitz continues her solid play and drives the team to never give up. I am looking forward to watching us progress and get all the pieces put together. Starting the season off with tough competition will only benefit us in the end.” Varsity match photos on Vidigami
