Raiders News · Lillie May (‘13) Named New Randolph Cheer Varsity Head Coach

Randolph School is pleased to announce that Lillie May will serve as head coach of the Randolph varsity cheer program.

Director of Athletics Blake Davenport says, “Coach May has done an excellent job for us as the middle school head coach for the past three years and we have no doubt she will continue doing just that at the varsity level. Her love for Randolph and the sport of cheer combined with the desire to develop young ladies through this sport is unmatched. We are very excited to see her have a great impact on our overall cheer program.”

Coach May cheered for Randolph in high school and her coaching philosophy is to create within her athlete’s responsibility, sportsmanship, respect, self-confidence, accountability, discipline, correct technique and a desire to compete. She feels it is her role as a coach to help her student-athletes achieve these values as well as provide a safe environment and positive sport experience, so they can attain their full potential.

Coach May had the following to say regarding this opportunity, “I have enjoyed being the head coach for middle school cheer for the past three years and am very excited to take on my new role as Varsity cheer head coach! Go Raiders!”

After graduating as a lifer from Randolph in 2013, Lillie attended Auburn University to pursue a degree in kinesiology with a focus of fitness conditioning and performance. She married Connor May (’13) in May of 2017. They both graduated from Auburn in May of 2018 and moved back to Huntsville. Coach May is a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and the owner of Anytime Fitness Jones Valley. When she’s not at the gym you can find her at the lake with Connor and their black lab, Purdy!
