 The Randolph Outdoor Track & Field (OTF) teams competed at the “AHSAA 4A State Championship Day 1” at Gulf Shores Sportsplex track & field facility in Gulf Shores, AL all day today, Thursday, April 29th, 2021.

The girls were led by Anahita Maleknia, Parmida Amiri, Armita Amiri, Nadia Bayless, Kayton Stanton, Emily Creekmore, Lauren Kronk, and Grayson Brinkmeier.  Anahita WON the 4A state championship in the girls shot put!   After day 1 and 5 of 18 events scored, the girls team is in 7th place behind White Plains, Montgomery Academy, Handley, JP2, Brooks, and Bibb County High School. Below are how the members who competed on day 1. Some events today were just “preliminary rounds” that will have finals Saturday if they finished in the top 8 places in the prelims.

    • Nadia Bayless finishing tied for 8th.   She cleared 4’04” and scored .50 points for the team!  …And she’s only a 7th grader!

The boys were led by Zach Takacs, Eric Xing, Evan Shields, Drew Stanley, Nic Strong, Jace Crisler, Grayson Davenport, and Evan Shields. Zach WON the 4A state championship in the boys 1600 meter race!  After day 1 and 3 of 18 events scored, the boys team is in 6th with 10 pts scored, behind Haleyville, Etowah, Brooks, Westminster Christian Academy, and North Jackson.
