Game Recap – View photos in the online gallery and on Vidigami

The Raiders played their final regular season home game tonight. It was Senior Night, a time to say thanks to all of the seniors and reflect on their accomplishments. This senior class has accomplished so much; 4 area championships, 3 final four appearances, 3 championship game appearances, and the 2015 4A-5A State Championship; and they’re not done yet. These seniors all started together for one final regular season home game; they didn’t disappoint. The Raiders dominated the game and every senior got a goal. Bipul Minal led off the scoring off a nice cross from Parker League. Kevin Pirouzbakht was the second senior to score. Brook Johnson scored off of a great through ball for his first career goal. Barrett Butler got in to the scoring action with a nice finish. That finished off the scoring in the first half with only one senior yet to score. Barrett got his second of the game to start the scoring in the second half. Freshman, Ian Krajna, was the first non-senior to score giving the Raiders the 6-0. And finally, our final senior gets his first goal of his career. Ali Haghshenas. Oakes Nelson and Ian (24th goal) each add a goal to make in 9-0. Barrett finishes off the scoring with his 3rd of the game for the hat trick. Great job seniors and thank you for everything that you have done for the soccer program and Randolph School. You will never be forgotten!

Varsity Girls defeated Buckhorn, 3-1. Eve Schoenrock with the hat trick.

GO RAIDERS!

Game Recap – View photos in the online gallery and Vidigami

The Raiders played their second game versus the Madison County Tigers last night. The boys won the first match-up and were looking for the season sweep and the Area Championship with the win.

The Raiders looked strong and maintained most of the possession. They were pressing and trying to find the first goal of the match. The Tigers were playing with six defenders and were trying to keep the Raiders off the scoreboard. That strategy didn’t last long. The boys struck first when Sean O’Hare played a great ball to Sridhar Karne who played right past the diving keeper. The Raiders continued to dominate and were looking to add another before half. Sridhar this time played a great ball across to find Spencer Laue at the back post who hammered it in. That goal gave the Raiders the 2-0 lead at the half.

The second half was much of the same. Less than 10 minutes in, Barrett Butler headed one in off of a corner. Sean O’Hare got in the scoring and put a great shot in the back of the net. Ian Krajna capped the scoring off for the night with a beautiful shot from the top of the 18. The Raiders defeated the Tigers 5-1 and secured the Area Championship. Way to go Raiders!
