Raiders selected for 4A, All-Area 14 Team

Randolph centerfielder Sam Kimel has been named the Class 4A, Area 14 Player of the Year by member coaches. The Mississippi College signee hit .440 with 13 doubles, four homers, two triples and 24 RBIs. He drew 16 walks and stole 11 bases. Kimel has been a first-team All-State selection the past two seasons as a designated hitter.

The Raiders faced the Briarwood Lions in the AHSAA 4A-5A State Championship Friday night.  This was the rematch of last year’s final and the Lions were looking to get revenge on the Raiders.  The Lions have good speed and showed it early in the game.
