Friday’s game against Central Middle School was a heartbreaker for Randolph as they lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat. Central Middle School was down 4-3 in the top of the fourth inning when Broadbent singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Raiders collected seven hits and Central had eight in the high-scoring affair.
Randolph got things started in the first inning when Noah Gaunt grounded out, scoring one run.
Keaton Schroer took the loss for Randolph. Schroer went one-third of an inning, allowing three runs on one hit and walking one.
Jackson Weglage started the game for the Raiders. The lefty allowed two hits and three runs over three innings, striking out four.
Jack Reeves led Randolph with two hits in three at bats. Raiders tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Weglage led the way with two.
