Gracie Boothe was almost perfect in the circle on Thursday, as she threw her second no-hitter of the season to lead Randolph Raiders past Decatur Heritage Christian Academy 10-0. Boothe already has 1 perfect game, this season.

The Raiders started the scoring in the first inning, when an error scored allowed Emma Gold to score the first run for Randolph. Joanna Vega and Gracie Boothe scored runs to end the inning with a score of DHCA 0 – RS 3.

The Raiders scored five runs in the second inning. The Raiders big bats in the inning were led by doubles by Boothe and Eliza McCrary and a single by Lily Kate Swoboda. Emma Gold, Joanna Vega, Gracie Boothe, Eliana Horowitz, and Eliza McCrary each scored. The second inning ended with a score of DHCA 0 – RS 8. The Raiders added another run in the third and fifth innings.

Joanna Vega went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Raiders. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth, Eliana Horowitz walked to score the game winning RBI. The game ended with a 10-0 victory.

Boothe commanded the pitching circle for the Raiders. She allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out 14 and walking zero. Boothe was one error short of her second perfect game.

For their next game, the Raiders take on Mae Jemison this Friday at 6:30pm in the 2020 Randolph Invitational.
